To provide a unique, contemporary but natural feel to the front yard, ensuring it doesn't draw too much attention while remaining stylish and cohesive.
The primary challenges were selecting the right hard materials and blocking the views of neighboring properties without disrupting the design’s flow.
- Custom wood slatted screens were built along both the auto court and the side of the house to obscure the neighbors’ views, blending seamlessly with the plantings and hardscapes after being stained.
- To match the existing house stone, a lot of research and visits to stone suppliers led to selecting a stone that complements the home but adds visual interest.
- The plantings combine structured hedges with more organic elements like hydrangeas and grasses for a balanced look.
- The hardscape design incorporates linear, contemporary pavers for the walkway, while the driveway uses randomly sized, textured pavers for added dimension and contrast.
